Biggest shoe crush of the year!

I have been meaning to share photos of my latest obsession when it comes to shoes for a while now,and it looks like it would be quite pointless if I don't do it now as it will be all about boots soon!

A shoe retail chain released some flamenco shoes recently, and I can't stop buying them!I am just in love with all the details and especially the spool heels!I am not someone who will usually buy more than one pair from the same line, but these ones have a hypnotising effect!

I went on the net and saw very similar shoes on online flamenco stores, some models almost felt like rip offs but it's still great to have these lovely shoes at a store nearby and get them without having to pay shipping!

I want to first share the photo of my wardrobe staple of this Summer!I wore it with so many differnt outfits and couldn't get enough! It works like magic!

I was also very lucky to get these ones,because they only produced one series of the colour red, I hadn't seen this model in red before in any branch nor did I see it afterwards,on nobody else either!

So I liked the red ones so much, I decided to get two more pairs when the shoes went on first sale!This pink ones are so cute, I haven't worn them so far, the things I want to wear them with are more for cooler weather...So I am keeping them for autumn days - with no rain- hopefully...

And blue ones as well! I have worn them almost as much as I wore the red ones! They work great with most of my skirts!

Another thing about the shoes were the gorgeousness of the boxes!So I couldn't do without showing a picture of one!

Unfortunately although I have this many pairs, I only have just one box intact,I was given a different box when I sent one for stretching and I got only one half of the box with the design when I had the pink ones brought from some other branch! :(

Some collage attempts!

I had been procrastinating on posting some collage attempts I made some while ago, actually before going on holiday!Anyway, it was interesting enough learning new things but I am not sure if I could keep posting collages as I have totally nothing to write about them when I am finished with them!Plus the fact that there are many bloggers with more experience and skills out there, making me feel too humble!

With the little blogging experience I have I think it looks more serious when you just post things in a line, rather than having flowers and cute things springing up all the time, but then I sometimes feel my posts are too long and if I made collages of some photos it wouldn't be this long....but then I have to make them smaller and that shows so little detail!

The one above is the photo of a pink dress whose fabric is from 70's.It has eyelet- like detail around the collar and on the hem, much better in real life than here.Also the heels of my shoes are pinkish purple and are complementing the dress perfectly but it's impossible to see!

The above one is the one I first made, it took only five minutes or something making me feel all the more eager!My friends still think it's the best so far!I think the dresses here somewhat deserve their own posts but it has to be this way I guess!You can see more detailed shots on here.

Back from holiday!

For my second holiday this summer,I went to Izmir and Cesme on the west coast of Turkey.I have been back for about a week now, but I have only just got the time to post about it!

Anyway we chose to take the ferry to Bandırma first, It's a lovely town on South Marmara, and then we took the train.There was nothing much interesting on the ferry so I leave you with the photos we took of the old steam engine...

On this photo I am wearing a dress with a Roman pattern embellished on it which doesn't show much...It's a great one though...I have a funny expression on my face because of the angle the photo was taken from...

The first place we went sightseing in Izmir was the famous clocktower.I read on a plate nearby that it was partly built by the money donated by the people of Izmir.We couldn't do much sightseeing during the day due to the horrible heat and humidity, It's much worse than we have it here in Istanbul, so all we did was to walk from Konak to Alsancak.(Two main districts in the center.)

There really is a strong resemblance with Thessaloniki in Greece by the way.We saw some Greek tourists too...The Greek name of the city is Smyrna, which is now used by a city in Georgia.

When we went into this street though my bf told me it looked American because of the palm trees and wide streets...

Food is very cheap in Izmir.You almost pay half of what you wou would pay in Istanbul.

My Bf made me realise the graphics on the menu ad thingy looked quite vintage inspired...

Cesme is a peninsula an hour away from Izmir.It has very clear waters and one of the nearby towns is famous for having one of the best shores in the world for windsurfing...
It overlooks the island of Chios, so it has a lot of delicacies with mastic, especially icecream and cookies.(The Turkish name of the island translates as "Mastic Island".

It's also where some of the most famous Turkish captains in history came from, so you see a lot of statues.

I had had my photo taken with the same dress around the same place last year too, it was beautiful but turned out to be a bit too grainy so I tried to recreate it this year!

This is a dress my mum bought at the start of the Summer from a shop I had not been buying from for over 6 years at least!Anyway, I think with this dress, they somewhat outdid themselves!

How I spent my weekend…

Actually, this post is more about how I spent my Saturday… I had heard that there would be a free festival in Santral Istanbul at the weekend, I read there would be stalls of some vintage brands and accessory brands, so I got curious…I wasn’t expecting anything great, Because I had been to one about three years ago and the vintage part was not really all that promising but this one turned out even worse! Anyway, I couldn’t know about it could I ?

I couldn't help but thinking I could make better versions of most of the accessories there or at least get better ones on the net for cheaper!

I was also curious about the venue itself, it opened a few years ago and it has got ever so popular in time! It’s like the most popular concert and festival venue almost, even surpassed the posh one on the bosphorus side! (almost!) It’s the surroundings of an old unused electric plant at the outskirts of the city so it’s quite interesting…

The only band performing at the festival: Portecho- They are the Turkish Camouflage!

It looks like they haven’t found enough sponsors on the muisc side of it, at the free festival three years ago, they had some foreign bands as well … I remember The paddingtons and Ms. John Soda….and loads more Turkish bands… But did I enjoy the music then? Not much….
In short, my guess is this festival will find its place in oblivion as its predecessor too…

All in all, I think the most entertaining guys at the festival were these two little kittens….

Especially the yellow one is kind of psycho, or schizo, or both……

It may look like innocent cat's play in the photos but you should have seen them!..

My first D.I.Y steampunk jewellery attempt!

I had been having this project in my mind for a while, after coming across all the steampunk jewellery on etsy some months ago,I decided I could do something too! These jewellery tend to be very pricy as well.So, I had intended to make my own humble version and finally got around to it! A few months ago I asked the local clockmaker for old watch parts, fighting my shyness, he told me to come later and when I was back the next day he had found some and asked me what I was going to do with them and told me that he had also thought something decorative could be made out of them! It was nice to get some empathy!

Here I am posting my first attempt at steampunk D.I.Y!

I didn't know what I would do with the parts for a long time Until I recently come across the round wire frame in a supply shop and from that I thought I could finally put the project into practice.I showed the final product to my sis and mum and they found it interesting too.The only thing is that it tends to go round on my ear too much.I think I can change it into a necklace soon.

I think this is my most vintage inspired post ever to date!
I am glad that I finally found something that I can wear with my hairband! Plus the watch earrings that I took forever to start to wear! I bought them two years ago and then they got lost before I got to wear them, and now finally, I wore them for the first time! It feels like all the items had been waiting for one another to come together! It took a lot of work to put the vintage bag into a usable condition, but I am quite happy with the result! It was funny I had thought I would never be able to find a doctor's bag here and was thinking of ordering one from abroad in the morning of that day and then I came across it in the evening!
